Robert & Vicky
are indeed
proud and honoured to be called
"Excelsiors"
The title
being derived from the
Great poem "Excelsior"
by Henry
Wadsworth Longfellow
who wrote such
~
IMMORTAL ~
poems as
~ Hiawatha ~
~ The
Village Blacksmith ~
~ The Psalm
of Life ~
&
~
Excelsior

The Poem Excelsior
honours and indeed
glorifies those who are seeking and striving to better themselves
in the fields of life, both morally and achieving great deeds.
These people, namely "Excelsiors"
,despite the trials,
tribulations and adversities they may face during their pursuit of
achievement, never swerve or deviate from their purpose.
This
determination is brought into prominence as shown by
The Motto of The
"Excelsiors"
"UPWARD
AND ONWARD"
|
|
Robert
achieved and deserved his title by dedication and determination in
spite of obstacles and set backs, conquering several difficult
fields of the Entertainment Art. Indeed pursuing them to the
highest level.
Starting as a child acrobat
and studying Tap, Jazz & Ballet, Robert graduated to
Pantomimes, Stage Productions and Club Appearances. Ballet led to
Solo Seal and Dancing in the company of such greats as
YOKO
ICHINO
and DANILO
RADOJEVIC.
After studying Adagio for several years in Australia and the
Bahamas Robert conquered the Art of Adagio.
|
Finally
to cap his performing skills, he carried out 6 years of intense
study, practice and devotion of purpose in order to conquer the
Art of Equilibrium.
Perseverance
resulted in the production of
"Robert The
Great Excelsior"
"Master of
Equilibrium"
|
|
Vicky,
Robert’s beautiful devoted wife, as a child, like Robert, was
unknowingly treading the Excelsior
path. Early as a child she
performed and participated in Pantomime plays. She studied
gymnastics and ballet and this led her after leaving school, to
enroll as a full - time boarder at Bush Davis Dance College in
Sussex, England. Four years of intense devoted study and
perseverance resulted in full honors and a handful of teaching
certificates.
|
|
Successful
with her first work application she crossed to the U.S.A. and
became a full time dancer. Never swerving from her ambitions of
improvement, she was Line Captain, Lead Dancer and Choreographer
in several productions. These roles she played in spots such as
Miami's "Fountainbleau", Las Vegas and Reno.
|
|
Her final
challenge and the turning point in her life and career came when
being introduced to Robert. Love bloomed and the Excelsior feeling
really began to manifest itself. The desires, dedication and
determination of Robert and Vicky combined together to draw up a
long term plan to create an Adagio Act they could perform together
as one.

Robert
with his skills and knowledge of Adagio, set out to impart this
knowledge of Adagio movements to Vicky. Combined with Vicky’s
already present expertise in dancing and acrobatics, it paid
unbelievable dividends. Three years of unswerving dedication to
creating this Unique Adagio Act were extremely difficult and
indeed an arduous task. Both Robert and Vicky trained extensively;
with Vicky striving to be admitted to the ranks of the Excelsiors
and to who's ranks she has been deservedly admitted.
|
|
The Unique
Adagio Act created by Robert and Vicky is unbelievably beautiful in
movement and content. It has been compared by several critics to
"True Poetry in
Motion".
Without doubt, they have created a World Class Act that will be hailed
as such wherever and whenever it is performed. |
|
|
Despite the fact
that Robert and Vicky have reached great peaks in the fields of
Equilibrium and Adagio, they have not rested and will not rest on
their laurels, as being an "Excelsior" means that one can never rest,
but must always be pursuing improvement and advancement.
|
|
To conclude this
brief summary of the Excelsiors, namely Robert and Vicky, one
can truly say, The Excelsiors
by their unswerving
dedication, their determination, their strength of purpose and their
great love of their art forms, have indeed borne out and verified the
great words Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
bequeathed to us
in his inspiring poem –
"The
Psalm
of Life". |
The Psalm
of life
Lives of
great men all remind us
Art is long
and time is fleeting
In the
World’s Broad Field of Battle
Be a hero in
the strife
Let us then
be up and doing
With a heart
for any fate
Still
achieving still pursuing
Learn to
Labour and to wait.
Henry Wadsworth
Longfellow
1807-1882
